Sweater Knit-Along: 3 patterns by Heidi Kirrmaier

Spring Sweater KAL:  featuring three Heidi Kirrmaier patterns
   Saturdays,  March 9th, & 30th; & April 20th 9:30 am -11:00 am

What do we love about knit-alongs?  Everything! The camaraderie, the motivation, the common ground!  We’ll choose between several patterns by Heidi Kirrmaeir as we knit a lightweight, multi season garment. We’re recommending ‘Spree,’ a lightweight cotton and wool yarn available in self-striping and/or solid colors for your next short sleeved sweater!

Heidi Kirrmaeir designs patterns that are fun to knit and easy to wear and her adult patterns feature inclusive size ranges between XXS and 6X.

Choose between Ship Shape, Lakeland or Purl Strings (shown L to R in the photo).  Ship Shape has some fun, fussy details that make the neckline particularly fun to knit and is suitable for experienced sweater knitters.  Lakeland is a top-down raglan v-neck, simple to knit after the shaping for the neck and classic in style; suitable for an advanced beginner level knitter who has made at least one sweater, and Purl Strings is a round yoke top-down tee, a simple pattern indeed. We’ll knit our yokes, separate the sleeves and body and knit them—and then voila! Your warm weather sweater is ready to wear!

We’ll pay special attention to pattern reading, swatching, knitting to pattern gauge, excellent fit and careful finishing.  Call the shop for more information or order your yarn online and let us know it’s for the KAL! (717) 768-8007

Homework: Come to the first class with your pattern purchased, yarn selected and purchased from LYS, and your swatch knit. Swatching instructions will be provided when you choose your yarn.

Skill level: This knit-along is for knitters ranging from first time sweater knitters to advanced sweater knitters. See details above. All participants must be comfortable with basic knitting skills including casting on, knitting and purling in the round and flat, and basic increasing and decreasing.

We’ll meet in the studio at LYS on Saturdays, March 9, March 30, and April 20 between 9:30 - 11:00 am. We’ll present these three opportunities to work together in the studio, and you are invited to knit with us every Thursday during Knit Night, too!

Your yarn purchase from Lancaster Yarn Shop reserves your place in Free Workshops, Classes and Knit-a-longs. When ordering online, choose ‘pickup’ as your shipping option, and we will hold your yarn until the day of the workshop.

Class size is limited.  Pre-register by purchasing your yarn in the shop or online.
