LYS One-Day Knitting Retreat: Stacked Stitches with Xandy Peters

  • Lancaster Yarn Shop 3519 Old Philadelphia Pike Intercourse, PA, 17534 United States (map)

Get ready for a deep dive into stacked stitches and the ‘Fox Paws Wrap’ with Xandy Peters. Stacked stitches are an innovative approach to striped colorwork, best known as the technique behind the Fox Paws pattern. Rows of garter stitch are bent into new shapes and patterns using only increases and decreases. Knitters will learn how to check their work and fix any problems that may arise at home while knitting the pattern.  As if this isn’t enough fun, all attendees will get a Fox Paws stitch motif enamel pin designed by Xandy!

Yarn: Worsted weight scrap yarn in multiple colors for swatching and five colors of Woolstok Worsted for a final project.

Needles: Size 8 (5mm) 24 ̋ circular needles. Extra needles in adjacent sizes may be helpful. Please bring metal or plastic needles if possible.

Optional materials: Stitch markers, scratch paper, highlighter tape, and a digital row counter.

Skills needed: Advanced beginner through advanced knitters welcome. Basic pattern reading skills are a must and familiarity with increasing and decreasing is recommended.

Midday, we’ll share a delicious lunch buffet specially prepared at the Kling House Restaurant.
